The folding tool with wedge drive is used for joining vehicle door outside and inside panels. The tool is used pref. for doors whose edge slopes inwards. The tool wear is reduced and idle movements of the wedge slider are avoided. The slider carries out only reciprocating movements. The front end of the wedge slider (4) has a vertical slider (5) provided with a bending profile (6). Above this slider is arranged the ram (7) held on the tool upper part. The arrangement uses a simple one sided profiled wedge ram (3). This pushes the bending profile sideways against the door panel assembly edge.

However, in the well-known stamp, an additional wedge pair is used to remove the slide with the bending bar from the working area, which is associated with an increase in the dimensions of the stamp and an increase in metal consumption.
The aim of the invention is to reduce the metal intensity and reduce the dimensions of the stamp.
To achieve this goal, the bending plate is spring-loaded in the direction of the punch axis, and the slider is mounted on the bottom plate.
